From votes to undelete

[edit]

This was created by our friend in Maine and it was a speedy delete. This town has a population of 2,202. This is for sure not a major destination, but I believe it can be a destination for a traveler. I like the little places and believe they deserve to have their own article. I would be happy to add content if it is undeleted.

  • Undelete for the reasons I gave above. -- (WT-en) Tom Holland (xltel)
  • I fully support allowing an article for this town if someone wants to create one that has useful content, but I disagree strongly that empty articles created by User:74.69.245.148 should not be speedy deleted - if someone is making edits simply for the sake of provoking other Wikivoyage users then those edits should be treated as vandalism and speedy deleted. -- (WT-en) Ryan 15:39, 17 December 2006 (EST)
    • I don't follow. The example at the top of the VFD section could almost have been created with you-know-who in mind. Now we should conduct deletes contrary to the example of how a delete should be mitigated by the realization that a place is legit? Undelete; to me this one is clear. -- (WT-en) Bill-on-the-Hill 09:26, 18 December 2006 (EST)
  • You are free to recreate this article at any time since it was not deleted through the vfd system -- (WT-en) Colin 17:47, 17 December 2006 (EST
Policy indicates that a undelete of a speedy delete should be discussed here. I would like the article undelete to preserve history, I do not want to recreate the article. -- (WT-en) Tom Holland (xltel) 18:56, 17 December 2006 (EST)
Agree with Tom. -- (WT-en) Bill-on-the-Hill 09:26, 18 December 2006 (EST)
  • We do not appear to have a clear consensus on this one and the time has long run out. So will leave it deleted. *sigh* -- (WT-en) Tom Holland (xltel) 14:29, 17 February 2007 (EST)
  • Undelete. Seems to me that Ryan and Colin don't have a problem with Union being an article and Tom simply wants to give you-know-who some attribution since the article was his idea. I don't see why we can't undelete. -- (WT-en) Sapphire 14:57, 17 February 2007 (EST)
    • If I hadn't forgotten all about it, I would have undeleted it myself. -- (WT-en) Colin 14:09, 19 March 2007 (EDT)
