Meldemannstraße Dormitory

[edit]

I would suggest to delete this listing. The dormitory does not exist any more - it is now used as an old people's home. The interior cannot be visited. The building itself is not ugly, but also not extremely interesting from an architect's point of view. There is no memorial, museum or whatever which reminds of Hitler living here. It should definitely be avoided to create some kind of "pilgrimage site" for neo-nazis or similar kind of people. If there is some consensus, I will remove this listing. --Daniel-tbs (talk) 11:27, 12 May 2016 (UTC)Reply

I understand your concern, and agree that there really is little value for the traveller in this listing. Serious historians will likely be able to find this building described elsewhere. –StellarD (talk) 07:58, 13 May 2016 (UTC)Reply
I used the comment function to hide this listing. If there are more voices pro deletion, I will delete it for good --Daniel-tbs (talk) 12:15, 13 May 2016 (UTC)Reply
I am now somewhat more ambivalent about deleting this listing outright. I've recently begun working on what may develop into a longer-term photography project on Jewish and WWII sites in Vienna, and had completely forgotten about this place. Perhaps we could remove it to this talk page instead. I still agree that this is not a place we want to advertise, but there might be other like-minded (not Neonazi) travellers interested in this history. Does anyone else have any thoughts/suggestions? –StellarD (talk) 10:45, 4 October 2016 (UTC)Reply
