Warning box
[edit]So is the warning box still valid? Anyone know the current situation there? – (WT-en) cacahuate talk 21:16, 21 May 2007 (EDT)
- I've tried to find out, but since the place was Not Generally Open to Tourism before the typhoon, and a military facility to boot, they aren't exactly advertising the status of the place. All I can confirm is that the contractor who runs the facility has some active job postings, and that recovery operations are underway. - (WT-en) Todd VerBeek 21:51, 21 May 2007 (EDT)
If you want I could get info....
[edit]My dad "lives" there as a contractor and I dont know wikivoyages rules on content, I can ask him questions and he can do his best to answer them. Just post the questions on my talk page and I can get info usually on the next day or day after that (I talk to him every day).... What I do know is that there are only 2 television channels, internet bandwidth is small (satellite connection=crap), there are a small amount of women (sausagefest) so not much "eye-candy". Mail, supplies, etc. come regularly every 2 weeks.I **think** tha there are 276 people on the island (I will get back to you on that) so... just drop a question on my talk page and I will get back to you soon. (whoops I posted that without a login (i thought wikipedia account transfer to here)) (WT-en) Wiseblood 13:20, 24 September 2007 (EDT)
