Restaurants

[edit]

This is the lengthy list of restaurants on Marine Drive in White Rock that I just moved from the guide. The Eat section shouldn't be just a listing of restaurants, but these might be useful if someone wants to fill in enough details to make a proper listing.

  • Slainte By the Pier
  • Roxy's By The Beach
  • Washington Ave. Grill
  • Sheesh Mahal Restaurant
  • Moby Dick's Fish and Chips
  • Uli's
  • The Pier
  • DOCK'S Fish & Chips
  • Caribbean Breeze
  • The Boathouse
  • Charlie Don't Surf
  • Ceilo's
  • Fronds Bistro
  • Iguana's Restaurant
  • Little India
  • Dolce Gelato

I've been adding full listings back one by one, starting with those I know personally or are highly rated by collaboratively-built sites like TripAdvisor. Note that it's good to have `lat=` and `long=` filled in. It allows the listing to appear on the interactive map. JimDeLaHunt (talk) 01:04, 29 July 2014 (UTC)Reply

Detailed listing?

[edit]

There's so many restaurants on Marine Drive that even as someone that lives in White Rock impossible to give an impression of all of them....

However, apart from the more upper scale WAG (Washington Ave. Grill) which is quite a bit east of the main drag and usually needs a reservation, the vast majority have menus out front and you can kind of judge it as you walk along the street.

Usually the thing to do is (ideally low tide near sunset) is to find a parking spot in the west, walk down the beach until your at the pier, walk to the end of the pier, walk back, walk to the east end of town along the beach. There, you done the nature/ocean thing.

Cross the street.

Then you walk along the street portion and figure out where you want to eat. Find a place you like, and either walk in and eat dinner, or perhaps get a reservation for later.

If you happen to be staying somewhat close (even at the top of the hill) you can always walk down to the beach (not that big a deal) and then you can find a nice patio to eat and drink while the sun goes down, and then take a cab back up the hill.

Great info; why not put it in the article? (WT-en) LtPowers 09:51, 4 May 2012 (EDT)
I just put this in the article under White Rock#The Beach. It was a great suggestion. JimDeLaHunt (talk) 01:01, 29 July 2014 (UTC)Reply
