San Teodoro, the southern doorway to Sardinia's "Emerald Coast", is 25 km from Olbia.

Get in[edit]

Get around[edit]

See[edit]

San Teodoro coastline is characterized by impressive beaches and bays. The most famous beach (not only in Sardinia but in Italy too) is La Cinta. From there you can admire San Teodoro's lagoon with its vegetation and its fauna, including pink flamingos. Very beautiful too is Cala Brandinchi, another popular beach known also as Tahiti for its exotic appearance.

Do[edit]

On Tavolara Island, part of the Tavolara and Punta Coda Cavallo Marine Preserve, there is the VLF transmitter ICV, which is used for transmitting submarines on the frequencies 20.26 kHz and 20.76 kHz to submerged submarines. It uses as antenna a span between two mountains and is surely an interesting facility for people, who like towers and spans, but it may be situated, because of its military use in restricted area and may be only admirable from far away. The island is off the coast about 15 km north of San Teodoro.
