This template produces inline Berlin public transport icons for the different services and lines.

The name of the template is derived from Berlin mass transit.

Usage

[edit]

Please avoid adding these icons within the prose of articles: per Wikipedia's Manual of Style for icons, "Icons should not be used in the article body... This breaks up the continuity of the text, distracting the reader".

In addition, icons used in this way are primarily decorative, e.g. "aesthetics are in the eye of the beholder: one reader's harmless decoration may be another reader's distraction": While the icons provide visual cues in certain circumstances—i.e. for the current U5 that runs mainly in the former East Berlin versus the U5 as a former shuttle line between Deutsche Oper and Richard-Wagner-Platz in the west—writing in prose will usually suffice. Instead, provide a link to the services directly, as in [[U1 (Berlin U-Bahn)|U1]] to produce U1.

Valid Parameters

[edit]
  • The first parameter selects the line or service (the default is S1 (Berlin)).
  • The second parameter sets the size of the logos in pixels. If this parameter is omitted, the default size is 14 pixels.

Note that this template is not case sensitive: i.e. {{BLNMT-icon|U}} produces the same result as {{BLNMT-icon|u}}.
