This is a documentation subpage for Template:Welcome.
It contains usage information, categories and other content that is not part of the original template page.

Usage

Some MediaWiki functions don't work right with threads without headings. Please manually insert one, or use the parameter h=y to have a default heading of "Welcome!".

Do not simply include this template in a User_talk page; it won't work right: ~~{{welcome}}~~.

This template must only be used by substitution:

==Welcome!==
 {{subst:welcome}}

 [any additional advice]

or

{{subst:welcome|h=y}}
