Thac Mo is in Binh Phuoc Province Central Highlands (Vietnam).

Understand[edit]

This destination is rarely traveled to by anyone including Vietnamese. However, there are some interesting sights in and around Thac Mo. It is next to Phuoc Long and is almost part of the same city.

People in the town rarely (never) get a chance to meet foreigners and are very curious and friendly. However, no one speaks English so come prepared with a smart phone/knowledge of some basic Vietnamese like numbers, some foods, and the words like "hotel"- nhà nghỉ.

Get in[edit]

Bus- there is a bus that leaves from Saigon. The ride takes about 5 hours.

Motorbike- can be reached easily from Saigon. It is pushing it to make this ride in one day, but it can be done if you get out of Saigon quickly. The entire ride is very pleasant once getting away from the Saigon traffic.

An excellent grilled lamb restaurant is located on Hồ Xuân Hương. Look for a well lit restaurant with "cừu" (lamb) on the sign. The people at that restaurant are very friendly.

There is also a coffee shop just down the street which is also a great place to watch the time go by.

Drink[edit]

You can make the ride to Saigon if going in that direction and make a stop in Cu Chi town to see the tunnels.

You can also go to Gia Nghia. If you are going to Gia Nghia you should go around the lake on your way out of the area. It is an interesting/scenic ride to go around the lake. Like this
