Thanga is an island in the Indian state of Manipur. It is the largest island in Loktak Lake, the main island of an archipelago. Politically, it also has some mainland area under its jurisdiction.

  • Sendra (Sendra Ithat) (South of Imphal city). 24/7. It is a hillock island in the archipelago. The bird's eye view of the majority of the lake can be seen from the hilltop watchpoint. There are also holiday resorts in the hilltop.
  • 2 Loktak Folklore Museum, Thanga Tongbram Leikai, Panathabam Leirak (Northern shoreline of the main island), +91 9436444845, toll-free: +91 9436444845, . 8:30AM-6PM (Sunday open). It is a folklore museum. It displays a collection of artistic, cultural and historical artefacts associated with the people of island. ₹10 for Indian adult, ₹5 for Indian children, ₹50 for foreigners.
  • Karang Island (Karang Ithat) (North of Thanga main island). 24 hours. There are many temples of God Khuman Pokpa (progenitor of the Khuman dynasty and ruler of darkness) of Sanamahism. You can reach the island by taking motorboating, rowboating or canoeing. entry free except for transportation charge.
  • Lai Nongshaba Temple (Lainingthou Nongshaba Laishang), Thanga Oinam Leikai, inside the main island (Southern shoreline of the main island). 24/7. It is a temple of a dragon lion Nongshaba of Sanamahism. During Lai Haraoba festival, dance and music performances dedicated to the God adore the area for the whole month duration. Free.
  • PUKHAM CHINGDON TOWER EAGLE HOUSE. 24/7. It is a hiking area. Here, backpacking, bushwalking, camping, fell walking, hillwalking, rambling, tramping facilities are available. Free.
  • Khwairakpam Lairembi Temple (Khwairakpam Lairembi Laishang) (Southern shoreline of the main island). 24/7. It is a temple dedicated to Goddess Khwairakpam Lairembi of Sanamahism. Free.
  • Lemon Tea Garden (Champra Chaa Heikol Leikol), Thanga Heisnam Leikai. 8AM-6PM. It is a tea garden. Here, lemon tea and light refreshments are served. It is also a space for the cultivation, display and enjoyment of lemon plants.
  • Chingningthou Laiphamlen Temple (Chingningthou Laiphamlen) (Southern shoreline of the main island). 24/7. It is a temple dedicated to God Ching Ningthou (patron deity of the Thanga island) of Sanamahism. Free.
  • Ibudhou Cheirenlakpa Khubham Temple (Ibudhou Cheirenlakpa Khubham) (Eastern shoreline of the main island). 24/7. It is a temple dedicated to God Cheirenlakpa of Sanamahism. Free.
  • Ibudhou Cheirelakpa Khubham Temple (Ibudhou Cheirelakpa Khubham) (Northern shoreline of the main island). 5AM-5PM. It is a temple dedicated to God Cheirelakpa of Sanamahism. Please don't get confused with Ibudhou Cheirenlakpa Khubham Temple of eastern shoreline. Free.
