Tilarán is a small town in Guanacaste, Costa Rica on the shores of Lake Arenal. The town is a peaceful, friendly place to visit and is increasingly popular for aquatic activities, especially windsurfing on the lake.

[edit]The nearest airport with commercial flights is Liberia (LIR IATA).
By bus
[edit]From Liberia, take the 524 bus to Cañas where you will change buses to Tilaran. Each bus ride will be about 45 minutes and cost about US$3.
From San Jose, three daily direct buses to Tilaran are operated by Autotransportes Tilarán. The 4-hour trip will cost about US$12.
