Intro

My first overseas trip was in 2001 when I took off for three months to travel to Australia, New Zealand and Thailand with two friends from high school. I had just graduated from the University of Western Ontario and completed Year One of a three year Tourism Management program. Some how I managed to convince my program coordinators that I needed to fast track through the program so that I could do three months abroad travelling.

Upon my return I completed Year Three of my Tourism Management program and was introduced to Gap Adventures by way of a video shown in my Ecotourism course. Bruce’s doctrine of low-impact tourism, committment to supporting local communities and to protecting the environment Gap Adventures travellers go to was quite inspiring. I knew then that I wanted to be a part of this company, but wasn’t ready to stop travelling.

Three years later, after jaunts to Central America, Africa, Australia and the UK, I returned to Canada and decided to apply to the only company that would keep me in Canada.
