Seattle Free Walking Tours is a new local nonprofit organization, which provides daily tours of downtown Seattle for visitors and locals. The organization is able to eliminate fees by relying on tips and donations alone. Visitors and locals can meet the tour guides in Victor Steinbrueck Park, located at the north entrance to Pike Place Market, everyday at 11 a.m. Rain or shine tour guides explore 2.5 miles of the city and the tour lasts approximately 2 hours and 15 minutes.

About Us Seattle Free Walking Tours’ mission is to educate others about Seattle’s diverse history and culture while providing work opportunities for members of the community. The organization is a nonprofit, which means every penny it receives through direct donations (see seattlefreewalkingtours.org) goes towards fulfilling their mission. At the end of each tour the guides are compensated by accepting tips from people who can pay as little or as much as they like. Suggested contributions are $15, similar to the Seattle Art Museum. This service was inspired by the free walking tours that currently exist in cities throughout Europe.
