About me
The Andalusian Institute of Historical Heritage is a public entity, attached and dependent on the Ministry of Culture and Historical Heritage (Junta de Andalucía). It was created by Law 5/2007, of June 26, with the general purpose of protecting the historical heritage, develop research related to it and perform those other functions entrusted to it.
As a public business agency, it develops its purposes through expert advice to the public administration of historical heritage and the provision of specialized technical services in documentation and intervention, as well as pre- and post-doctoral training, the dissemination of Andalusian historical heritage and the promotion of heritage culture in society.
Since 2011 the IAPH has been recognized as a research institute, integrated in the Andalusian Knowledge System, whose objective is multidisciplinary scientific and technical research with the aim of contributing to the advancement of heritage knowledge and to the cultural, social and economic development of Andalusia. In accordance with the regulation of creation, this activity is carried out within the framework of the R+D+i plans of the Junta de Andalucía: RIS3 Andalucía and PAIDI 2020.
