Welcome[edit]

Hello and Welcome to Wikivoyage.

I noticed your great contributions to Dallas, have you considered becoming a Project:Docent?

Scanning the manual of style, especially the article templates, can give you a good idea of how we like articles formatted. If you need help, check out Project:Help, and if you need some info not on there, post a message in the travellers' pub. I look forward to more contributions! Just out of curiosity, do you have any affiliation with AmeriSuites or are you just a fan?

Hotel listings[edit]

Thanks for all of your additions of Amerisuites Hotel. One caution, however, is to please make sure you are adding a hotel only to the city in which it is found - if the hotel location is in Dublin (California) then it should be added to that article, not to the San Francisco article. We definitely appreciate the contributions and just need to make sure that everything is getting put in the right place.

Also note that if a hotel is found in a location that we do not yet have an article for, feel free to create a new article. Simply click on the "City" link when editing the new page, and a city article template will be filled out for you. You can then add any information you like to that template. -- (WT-en) Ryan 14:41, 20 July 2006 (EDT)

Thanks for your additions. I've removed a number more of your listings which were misplaced. If a particular city article doesn't exist, please just go ahead and create the article. We'll help you if you make any mistakes on the creation, and we are happy to have the articles even if they only contain your listing and nothing else. Also keep in mind that we generally alphabetize listings, so AmeriSuites will be the first listing for most articles. Thanks again, -- (WT-en) Colin 15:32, 20 July 2006 (EDT)

(I've sent an email to the user hoping to get him to notice this page. -- (WT-en) Colin 15:12, 21 July 2006 (EDT))

  • Eric, have you seen the comments above? I removed some of your hotel listings from Cincinnati and created a new article, because one of the hotels you listed is in a different state. Please make sure the listings you add are placed in the appropriate article. If there is not an article for some of your information please create the new article. -- (WT-en) Andrew Haggard (Sapphire) 11:43, 24 July 2006 (EDT)
    • He responds well to email and is trying to do the right stuff. -- (WT-en) Colin 14:45, 24 July 2006 (EDT)

First person[edit]

Thanks again for all of your hotel additions, and thanks also for responding to requests to make sure the hotels get placed in the proper city. One additional note is that you may want to read Project:First person pronouns - short summary is that it's best to avoid using "we" and "I" in edits. Given the tone of the guides we're writing, adding such language makes the listing sound like an advertisement, and may be more likely to cause Wikivoyage users to avoid a location, which I think is the opposite of what you're trying to accomplish! -- (WT-en) Ryan 14:29, 25 July 2006 (EDT)
