Thanks for your contributions to places in Mexico. For information on how Wikivoyage differs from Wikipedia, see Project:Welcome, Wikipedians. In aprticular we usually try to make pages only for destinations, rather than features (such as as cenotes). We don't usually have articles for Bodies of water such as oceans, seas or perhaps the Mesoamerican Barrier Reef, so I have put this article on the Project:Votes for deletion page to get comments from other contributors (and yourself). -- (WT-en) DanielC 06:48, 29 April 2007 (EDT)

La Ruta de los Cenotes "Sources in Spanish" section

La Ruta de los Cenotes is basically an ecotourist development project sponsored by people in the state governments of the Yucatan. Nobody has translated anything about the project into English yet. So if you are interested in what you've read so far, and you want to find more of the cenotes listed, you'll have to rely on Spanish links for now. (WT-en) HLM 10:02, 29 April 2007 (EDT)

Rush to judgment

So it took you 24 hours to decide Wikivoyage's a waste of everyone's time. That's... quick. I think Wikivoyage has a lot of potential, and that it's already meeting some of it. Going from 0 to 30K articles (in all languages) in less than four years is pretty fast growth, and the rate of growth is increasing as well; more than half of those were created in just the last 12 months. The quality of those articles is improving too (as I said elsewhere: we don't like stubs). You know, that whole Lonely Planet library wasn't written in just a few years, either. I contribute to Wikivoyage (and frankly, it isn't really very much of my time) because I see ways I can help it get closer to its goals. (Certainly a more fulfilling use of my time than the recurring train-wrecks which I've experienced in a couple of years of editing Wikipedia.) To be honest, I'm not that bothered that you consider Wikivoyage's standards "bizarre"... mostly because I don't see much indication that you've taken the trouble yet to find out what they are, let alone the reasons behind them. And thanks for the life advice, but I can figure out for myself how to spend my time, without relying on the snap judgments of strangers. - (WT-en) Todd VerBeek 16:18, 30 April 2007 (EDT)
