Thailand provinces and provincial capitals

Thank you for showing me that point! ... but when Thais speak of a destination's name in Thailand, they mean "province" but not city or town... i.e. when we say Ang Thong, we mean Ang Thong province but not Ang Thong (town)... that's why i was just adjusting links but not going against the rule that you've shown.

So, i think the content of all the destinations (e.g. Ang Thong) should be moved to a new article named as town or city (e.g. Ang Thong town, depends upon the destination) and then the original destination name (Ang Thong) should be redirected to the province page. --(WT-en) Borndistinction 23:04, 22 April 2008 (EDT)

That may be the case for Thais who grow up there, learn the province names in school, etc., but I think that very definitely among English-speaking travellers, when we hear Lopburi or Ayutthaya we are definitely referring to the city. To the traveller, the provinces are just background administrative divisions that are not necessary to know. I've spent a month travelling in Thailand and wasn't really even aware of the province names; I simply never needed to know. (WT-en) Texugo 23:58, 22 April 2008 (EDT)

Article sections

Please refrain from creating top level headers that are not part of our article templates. A lot of the Thailand articles are currently very far away from the article template ideals-- In many of the Thailand province articles you have created sections like tourism, Local foods, Local products, Retirement, Useful contacts, Local tips, and Nightlife. Most of the information added already has a proper place in each article (see Project:Where you can stick it). Some of the information doesn't belong on Wikivoyage at all (e.g. Retirement). Every time you create these idiosyncratic sections, it means one of us needs to go in there and reorganize everything. Since you tend to add a lot of information, it would be a lot easier for everyone if you would learn where to put things from the beginning. Thanks. (WT-en) Texugo 03:48, 1 November 2008 (EDT)
