Welcome

[edit]

Hello Colin Angus Mackay!

Welcome to Wikivoyage. Please take a sec to look at our copyleft and policies and guidelines, but feel free to plunge forward and edit some pages. Scanning the Manual of style, especially the article templates, can give you a good idea of how we like articles formatted. If you need help, check out Project:Help, and if you need some info not on there, post a message in the travellers' pub.

Thanks for all your work on all those articles about Scotland. The reason that some of your contributions are anonymous is because of a software bug. To overcome this you need to check your preferences each time you edit a page to make sure you are still logged on, or not watch the pages you edit as adding pages to the watchlist currently results in you being logged off. -- (WT-en) Huttite 20:55, 11 Jun 2005 (EDT)

Thanks for the welcome. I've also found that as I continue to edit the bug is less and less annoying as I'm already watching the page. -- (WT-en) Colin Angus Mackay 10:11, 12 Jun 2005 (EDT)

Hi Colin, I see you've done lots of good editing and articles already. I worked up in Edinburgh for 2 months last "summer", so I have contributed to a few articles - it seems that a few anglicism crept in that you are now correcting! I didn't make it to Dunfermline!, but I am off to Shetland and Orkney next week, so I'll be writing about them in a few weeks. -- (WT-en) DanielC 09:27, 12 Jun 2005 (EDT)

Thanks for the welcome. There can't have been too many anglicisms as I don't remember correcting any - They were probably quite minor. -- (WT-en) Colin Angus Mackay 10:11, 12 Jun 2005 (EDT)
Well, calling Loch Lomond a lake, and Linlithgow Palace a Castle... -- (WT-en) DanielC 10:22, 12 Jun 2005 (EDT)

Edinburgh

[edit]

Hi Colin. I've been trying to do a bit of work on Edinburgh and especially the Districts. I've tried to rejuvenate a discussion in which you made some very good points (admittedly about 3 years ago!) on the Discussion page. I'd appreciate your input again if you have the time...
