Thanks for your attempts to add vacation rental listings, but please read Project:External links and Project:Don't tout to understand why many of them have been reverted. One of the explicit non-goals of Wikivoyage is that we do not want to become a web directory, and thus the external links policy is fairly restrictive. If you'd like to add other information about destinations in the Northwest, however, it would be welcome. -- (WT-en) Ryan 22:01, 30 September 2006 (EDT)

Again, please read Project:External links to understand why links to an online rental agency are inappropriate on high-level articles like Washington (state) and Pacific Northwest (United States of America). There is a discussion of how to handle rental agencies at Project:Accommodation listings#Apartment rentals - if the link you've been adding meets the criteria then feel free to add it. HOWEVER, if you add it to lots of articles then it will almost certainly be removed by someone - we do our best here to work with businesses, but multiple listings are generally seen as spam and reverted. The reasoning is that a traveler to Bellingham (Washington) will want to know what accommodation options are available, but listing every single hotel in the Pacific Northwest in the Pacific Northwest (United States of America) would not be at all useful to anyone. -- (WT-en) Ryan 21:15, 22 February 2007 (EST)

Rentals

Check out the "Apartment listings" section of Project:Accommodation listings for the prerequisites needed to list a particular rental agency. Basically, it needs to be a physical agency located near the rental. This goes along with the general principle that, although we could just link to hotwire.com for every city in the US, that's probably not the best way to help readers select a place to stay. -- (WT-en) Colin 21:11, 22 February 2007 (EST)

I think that I no longer trust the WikiTravel to offer me a variety of accommodation suggestions. I am trying my level best to offer up a suggestion to travelers. A place I stayed and loved. I've stayed in those hotel spas and they are so dull & impersonal. I finally found a wonderful family oriented vacation rental place that is relaxing, private and luxurious and I've been censored and censored and censored. I really think I've improved my wording, style and info each time I've been kicked out but now I think I'll just give up and hope people stumble on this place on their own. I am truly saddened. :-( -- Gutsche
