Welcome[edit]

Hello Koolkittenjo! Welcome to Wikivoyage. Please take a sec to look at our copyleft and policies and guidelines, but feel free to plunge forward and edit some pages. Scanning the Manual of style, especially the article templates, can give you a good idea of how we like articles formatted. If you need help, check out Project:Help, and if you need some info not on there, post a message in the travellers' pub. If you are having trouble with some of the terms being used, check out the jargon page.

Stevenage[edit]

Thank you for contributing to Stevenage. -- (WT-en) Tom Holland (xltel) 10:32, 29 July 2006 (EDT)

Great work on Stevenage! I made a few edits to bring it a little more in line with our Project:Manual of style -- let me know if you have any questions. You should really consider becoming a Project:Docent for Stevenage-- you seem to know a lot! (WT-en) Maj 15:59, 29 July 2006 (EDT)
Glad to see you're a docent! In case you didn't notice, your name now appears in the left col of the article under "destination docents" (WT-en) Maj 13:55, 30 July 2006 (EDT)

Thank you Maj. I really appreciate your positive comments on the Stevenage article as I have spent a lot of time fitting all my knowledge on the town into the article template, learning how to add images, add links etc and regularly adding more to it-- (WT-en) Jo 19:01, 30/7/06 BST

Other[edit]

As many of you are from North America (and therefore live in a very different time zone), if you leave a comment about a pressing matter on here, unfortunately you may not get a very quick response. Just wanted to remind you just in case you did have a pressing matter! Best wishes, -- Jo 21:32 30/7/06 BST.

Images[edit]

I just wanted to point out our image policy to you and I'd really appreciate it if you would upload your images to Wikivoyage Shared so that your images can be used by all language versions of Wikivoyage. Please keep in mind that you must provide information about the license of the image you are uploading and that you must be the owner and author of the image. Here is a copy of the default license. Thanks. -- (WT-en) Andrew Haggard (Sapphire) 12:29, 30 July 2006 (EDT)

Thankyou for pointing that out to me, any photos I upload in future I'll upload to Wikivoyage Shared (unless they have English text on them). -- (WT-en) Jo 18:30 30/07/06 BST

Credit[edit]

In case you didn't see the reply on my talk page-- Your name does appear on the bottom afetr This page was last modified... by Jo Nawrat. Let me know if you still can't find it (seeing your name in the credits is one of the perks!) (WT-en) Maj 10:58, 31 July 2006 (EDT)

Copyright image![edit]

Hate to be a pain, but I think we can't use one of the images you've uploaded in Stevenage - check out Image_talk:Granbystevenage.jpg to see what I've written about it! BTW if you wanna sign your name after something in a talk page, just type ~~~~, and it does it all for you! (WT-en) Tsandell 11:25, 31 July 2006 (EDT)

I made a fair few mistakes starting out on here aswell! FYI, you can't delete something on here however much you want to! you have to go through a very laborious process about nominating it for deletion and then after 2 weeks it gets deleted... i've vfd'd it and added the banner, for more info check out Project:How_to_delete_a_page. -- (WT-en) Tsandell 12:46, 31 July 2006 (EDT)
I did think that perhaps it wasn't quite as simple as just removing it from the page. Thanks. (WT-en) jo 12:47, 31 July 2006 (EDT)

french speaker![edit]

Hey i noticed you speak french from your user page... If you have a look on the french wikivoyage, there is alot of articles on French destination that have lots of info that the English versions don't have. If you ever get to a stage with Stevenage when you reckon you've done all you can (believe me it does happen, check out my efforts on Lesotho,) give me a hand in converting the french ones over! -- (WT-en) Tim 17:01, 31 July 2006 (EDT)

Docent[edit]

I'm going to be away for the next 5 days in Languedoc-Roussillon and I doubt I'll be able to get internet access while I'm away. (WT-en) jo 13:31, 1 August 2006 (EDT)
