Hello Sam Salmon!
Welcome to Wikivoyage. If you want to specialize your experience you may want to consider editing your preferences. Please take a second to look at our copyleft and policies and guidelines, but feel free to plunge forward and edit some pages. Scanning the Manual of style, especially the article templates, can give you a good idea of how we like articles formatted. If you're new to the whole wiki community look at the Wiki markup to get an idea of how to use the wiki markup. If you need help, check out Project:Help, and if you need some info not on there, post a message in the travellers' pub. - (WT-en) Sapphire 00:36, 8 May 2006 (EDT)
Deletions in Vancouver/Kitsilano
[edit]SamSalmon: Welcome back to Wikivoyage. We haven't seen you for a while! I notice that you've deleted the entries in Vancouver/Kitsilano#Eat for Lumière and Feenie's a couple of times recently. As far as I know, both restaurants are still open and information about them is still useful to travellers. Would you please post a comment in Talk:Vancouver/Kitsilano (under "Deletions and conflicting opinions...") about why you think those listings should go? We are better off having a discussion and coming to a consensus than having back-and-forth edits and reversions. Thank you. (WT-en) JimDeLaHunt 03:13, 11 June 2008 (EDT)
- SamSalmon: On June 27 you again deleted the Lumiere and Feenie's listings from the Vancouver/Kitsilano article with the comment "Lumiere is long long gone as is Feenie's as is Feenie himself." That's not what http://lumiere.ca/ says. Calling Lumiere's number, +1-604.739.8185, there's a message saying they are closed for renovations and will reopen in the fall. Do you have evidence that in fact Lumiere and Feenie's are "long long gone"? (Of course Feenie himself is gone, but travellers don't care so much about that, they care if they can have dinner.) If so, please put it in Talk:Vancouver/Kitsilano. I appreciate having others contributing to the Vancouver coverage in WikiTravel, but when there are deletions with no edit notes and no discussion in the Talk page, it's hard to distinguish corrections from vandalism.
