Please ensure the Image of Sea Lions that you uploaded complies with Project:Image policy. It appears to be a commecial photograph. Unless you own the copyright and can release it to Wikivoyage, it cannot be used. Sorry. -- (WT-en) Huttite 07:03, 1 Jun 2004 (EDT)

The picture does belong to me. How do I prove that I did take the picture and that I retain the rights even though it is used at another place? (WT-en) TUser 18:20, September 24th. 2004 GMT -5.00

It's pretty much sufficient for you to simple tell us you own the copyright. Here's how this all works:

• According to out Project:Image policy, we require that everyone label their uploaded images with a copyright. Here's an example of one of mine: Image:Mammoth Mountain.jpg
• If there is an issue such as failing to properly label stuff with copyrights, we leave a message on the uploading user's talk page requesting clarification.
• If there is no response, we have no choice but to delete the offending image. (Unfortunately, people trying to be helpful often copy and paste stuff from all over the web into Wikivoyage, which we really can't allow)

So thanks for clearing up the issue. Could you please go to Image:Sea lions.jpg and click "edit this page" and add a copyright message from yourself.

Hello TUser, I like your sea lions picture, too, but not so much in the Lima article. See Talk:Lima for details. Maybe, sizing down your picture was not the best idea, although the Project:Image policy strongly recommends sizes with the smaller side below 250 pixels. But since we have the thumb feature in Wikivoyage, it seems to have become common standard to upload bigger images and use thumbs in the articels, what really has som advantages.
