Hello, Yacht! Welcome to Wikivoyage. Please take a sec to look at our copyleft and policies and guidelines, but feel free to plunge forward and edit some pages. Scanning the Manual of style, especially the article templates, can give you a good idea of how we like articles formatted. If you need help, check out Project:Help, and if you need some info not on there, post a message in the travellers' pub. --(WT-en) Evan 14:50, 1 Jan 2004 (PST)

Good work on the Chinese phrasebook. -(WT-en) phma 16:15, 1 Jan 2004 (PST)

Thanks. But in fact, I just copied some content from Wikipedia, and did limited translation. :p --(WT-en) yacht(Talk)[[China|]] 20:45, 1 Jan 2004 (PST)
That's too bad, actually. Our license isn't compatible with Wikipedia's, so it's not OK to copy content from there to here. You can do it if you wrote it, or if you get permission from the authors, but it's not OK to just copy it over. --(WT-en) Evan 20:55, 1 Jan 2004 (PST)
Oh, really? Sorry about that. I thought I just couldn't copy content here to Wikipedia, but not the reverse. Do I need to ask for permission since Wikipedia runs under GNU licence(which means I can use the content from there in anyway I like)? Do delete that article then if not okay. :| --(WT-en) yacht(Talk)[[China|]] 21:05, 1 Jan 2004 (PST)
You can use the content anyway you like, as long as you keep it under the GFDL. If you put it on Wikivoyage, it goes under the Creative Commons Attribution-ShareAlike license. You can't change the license on the content -- part of what makes it copyleft.
I'd prefer not to delete the article outright. Could you simply remove the parts you copied from Wikipedia? It looks like you started from the Spanish phrasebook -- which is OK, even if we mostly start from the Project:Phrasebook template -- and added onto it. --(WT-en) Evan 21:09, 1 Jan 2004 (PST)
Content above "Phrase list" all from Wikipedia. :O --(WT-en) yacht(Talk)[[China|]] 21:16, 1 Jan 2004 (PST)
