Hello! Welcome to Wikivoyage. If you want to specialize your experience you may want to consider creating an account and editing your preferences. Please take a second to look at our copyleft and policies and guidelines, but feel free to plunge forward and edit some pages. Scanning the manual of style, especially the article templates, can give you a good idea of how we like articles formatted. If you're new to the whole wiki software look at the wiki markup to get an idea of how to use the wiki markup. If you need help, check out Project:Help, and if you need some info not on there, post a message in the travellers' pub. -- (WT-en) Hypatia 21:15, 15 September 2006 (EDT)

I notice you're contributing a bit to Backpacker. Can you check my question on Talk:Backpacker, which is basically whether or not Backpacker and Urban backpacking should be the same article. (WT-en) Hypatia 21:15, 15 September 2006 (EDT)

...so it's possible to engage in a conversion -- where are you sourcing all this Thai data, in particular, the bit about (some) borders being closed? (WT-en) Jpatokal 18:17, 20 September 2006 (EDT)

I think this is the same person, but I'm not positive. -- (WT-en) Sapphire 18:23, 20 September 2006 (EDT)
Same person, yes. Malaysia: live TV coverage from Changloon; Cambodia: several TV announcements; for Laos/Myanmar see http://news.search.yahoo.com/search/news?p=coup+border & elsewhere on the 'net.

Help out

[edit]

It is obvious you have a lot of energy and you would be most welcome to create an account (so we could communicate better) and start doing some real clean up in lieu of creating useless redirects to articles that don't exist. So come on, create an account and join in. -- (WT-en) Tom Holland (xltel) 09:34, 23 September 2006 (EDT)

You requested an example on my Talk page

[edit]
Example requested Redonda Island points to Redonda that dabs.... what?
or Redonda island points to Redonda that dabs.... what?
both of the above redirects would work regardless of capitalization, and all three are worthless for a traveler as they point to Redonda's that do not have articles.
I don't see a big problem with all the redirects and disambig pages you are creating, but I also don't see a big need. Take a look at Project:Ways to help Wikivoyage and keep up your efforts. -- (WT-en) Tom Holland (xltel) 14:45, 23 September 2006 (EDT)

There has been much heated debate on whether every map dot should get its own article, with the general consensus being that if you can sleep there it gets an article OR if someone wants to write an article about their home town then an article is OK. In the case of the two Woodworth's that are linked to from the disambiguation page you created, one has a population of 80, and the other is a part of a larger town in Louisiana, so I'm not sure that they actually meet the article criteria... Stop that...

[edit]

...right now, and discuss on Talk:Indonesia before I rollback all your changes. And sign up for a bloody account already. (WT-en) Jpatokal 11:16, 1 January 2007 (EST)

VND vs dong

[edit]

Please don't replace the handy monosyllabic name "dong" with the obscure currency code "VND".

And sign up for an account. (WT-en) Jpatokal 02:22, 11 January 2007 (EST)

Thank you. (WT-en) Jpatokal 02:55, 11 January 2007 (EST)
