Hello, Sadiemydog1! Welcome to Wikivoyage.

To help get you started contributing, we've created a tips for new contributors page, full of helpful links about policies and guidelines and style, as well as some important information on copyleft and basic stuff like how to edit a page. If you need help, check out Help, or post a message in the travellers' pub. If you are familiar with Wikipedia, take a look over some of the differences here.--ϒpsilon (talk) 18:24, 3 October 2014 (UTC)Reply

Nine Cities

[edit]

Hi there, Sadiemydog1! Welcome to Wikivoyage and thanks for contributing. Unfortunately, some of our edits had to be undone, because they don't meet our common practices and rules. To keep our articles from getting cluttered, we only list the top 9 cities and destinations for a country in the country article. Other destinations are listed in the relevant region articles. Such choices are often hard, but we try to keep the traveller's perspective in mind. Also, a zoo (to use your example) doesn't get an article of its own, but is described in the article for the city it is in. See Wikivoyage:What is an article? for more info on that. If you feel one of the cities or destinations listed in The Netherlands should be changed for another, feel free to make an argument for that on the talk page. Keep in mind however, that it is unlikely that a major tourist town like The Hague, Delft or Amsterdam will be deleted from the list to include a smaller destination like Dordrecht or Assen. Still though, feel free to discuss any changes you'd like, or ask any questions. Best, JuliasTravels (talk) 11:44, 26 June 2015 (UTC)Reply

Sorry but please change than the info about Nijmegen it isn't the oldest city in The Netherlands. But my cities aren't inspired by how big the tourism is there , but what are the nicest to see.
Welcome back, Sadiemydog. It's fine to change the blurb for Nijmegen. I've changed the description even a bit more, because I don't think it's very important for travellers to know the political colour of the region. The list of nine is hard to pick. What is the nicest is a matter of opinion. While surely Assen has a few lovely sights, you should question whether the city as a whole is of more interest to the average traveller than e.g. Rotterdam or Maastricht is. It's also an option to mention particularly interesting sights in the See or Do-section of the article. JuliasTravels (talk) 20:12, 24 September 2015 (UTC)Reply
