Edit

[edit]

I hope you don't mind but I changed a word and added a word to your comments about deleting JensANDMarian's images. I changed "are" to "or" and added "do". -- (WT-en) Andrew H. (Sapphire) 09:04, 9 January 2007 (EST)

Thanks, that is my hillbilly editing showing it's face. -- (WT-en) Tom Holland (xltel) 09:07, 9 January 2007 (EST)

Tornado safety

[edit]

I'm trying to remember from my grammar school days, if there isn't a dedicated tornado shelter are you supposed to go to the southwest corner of a room or building? I figure you might know since you live in Tornado Alley, right? -- (WT-en) Andrew H. (Sapphire) 16:30, 12 January 2007 (EST)

Lowest floor or basement, small room in the center (ie closet or bathroom). -- (WT-en) Tom Holland (xltel) 16:36, 12 January 2007 (EST)
I'm a moron - that info was already in the article. Maybe next time I'll read. -- (WT-en) Andrew H. (Sapphire) 16:42, 12 January 2007 (EST)

Trinidad and Tobago

[edit]

Thanks for the welcome and helpful advice. As for expanding the Trinidad and Tobago article, it has been my pleasure. I was born in and grew up in Trinidad and Tobago and lived there for 22 years. I also regularly keep in touch with the few members of my family who are still there, as well as friends. So if there is anything else you'd like to see added, please let me know. Happy Birthday

The Wikivoyage Birthday cake (WT-en) Ravikiran 11:09, 11 March 2007 (EDT)

Hope you have a great one! (WT-en) Ravikiran 11:09, 11 March 2007 (EDT)

Wow. Two en: admins with the same birthday? Is this an example of the wikipedia:birthday paradox? Regardless, happy birthday, Tom! --(WT-en) Evan 12:50, 11 March 2007 (EDT)
Happy birthday from me too! I think it was a conspiracy between Todd and Tom's moms. -- (WT-en) Sapphire(Talk) • 14:57, 11 March 2007 (EDT)
Actually, it is three. (WT-en) Ravikiran
Thanks for the greet and the cake! -- (WT-en) Tom Holland (xltel) 08:52, 12 March 2007 (EDT)

I've undeleted Union (Maine) per your nomination to undelete it since there were three votes for it's un-deletion, and Ryan and Colin (he said he'd undelete it, if he hadn't forgotten) never said they we're blatantly against it's un-deletion and they suggested they'd be in favor of recreation. Since, I think, you know more about this place can you fill it out some? -- (WT-en) Sapphire(Talk) • 14:15, 19 March 2007 (EDT)

Yes, I will add some content, but give me a few days. Next weekend would be better, but I may get to it before then. Thanks. -- (WT-en) Tom Holland (xltel) 15:04, 19 March 2007 (EDT)

I think the list of counties should stay, why do you think it should be removed? Are the correct counties listed? ~ 61.91.191.4 19:45, 31 March 2007 (EDT)

If someone feels a county in the Greater Oklahoma City is a useful destination, then it could be added as an article and a link provided. Tell me why you think a list of counties is useful to the traveler to this Oklahoma City area? I don't know of anyone that would be interested in visiting a county in the Oklahoma City area as a destination and the list would be more useful in a Wikipedia article, not Wikivoyage. I work there and I don't think I have heard any traveler ask about a "county" in the area. We are here for the traveler and not an Encyclopedia. But, that said, if you feel strongly that the is list is useful, I suggest you add comments on the talk page and we will see if we get a consensus. The one county that has been added to this region is only a template and useless for the traveler and they are sometimes useful for town and city place holders, but that is about it. As far as being correct the correct list, not really, the OKC region does not divide up by counties very well. I realize WP likes to do that, but it really doesn't work well that way. -- (WT-en) Tom Holland (xltel) 20:04, 31 March 2007 (EDT)
Here's the list, plus four quick questions:
  • Canadian County
  • Cleveland County
  • Grady County
  • Lincoln County
  • Logan County
  • McClain County
  • Oklahoma County
  1. Which of these counties are completely within the Greater Oklahoma City region?
  2. Which of these counties lie completely outside of the Greater Oklahoma City region?
  3. Are there any other counties which are completely or partially in the Greater Oklahoma City region?
  4. And in the case of counties that are only partially in the Greater Oklahoma City region, please advise which other region(s) they are also in.
Thanks! ~ 61.91.191.10 12:25, 1 April 2007 (EDT)
