Vanoise National Park is the first French national park in the Savoie department of the Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes region, established in 1963. The park is bordered by Gran Paradiso National Park across the Italian border, and if they were one park, it would be the world's largest alpine park.

- 1 Dôme de l'Arpont. A summit located in the Vanoise massif perched at 3,599 metres.

[edit]Off-piste skiing is prohibited in the black grouse wintering areas in order to avoid disturbing it. Apart from sportsmen practising ski touring, the vocation of the heart of the national park is rather linked to summer tourism oriented towards the discovery of nature. However, there are nearby ski resorts.
