Vitebsk Oblast (Belarusian: Віцебская вобласць) is a region in the north-eastern part of Belarus. The western part of the region is occupied by the Braslau Lakes National Park.

Cities

  • Vitebsk — center of the region. A picturesque city combining Polish heritage with Russian and Soviet architecture. The hometown of Marc Chagall.
  • Braslau — the gateway to the lakes.
  • Lyntupy — a beautiful Baroque Revival church and a nice manor house.
  • Novopolotsk — industrial center close to Polotsk. The cities are reasonably well-connected with public transport, share a university, and the merge of the two into one administrative unit has been discussed for a while.
  • Orsha — an active raiload hub with some monasteries and churches to see.
  • Pastavy — a fine Gothic Revival church and an old Jewish cemetery.
  • Polotsk — an ancient Belarusian town with many old churches
  • Sharkovshchina — a quiet town with a couple of small nice churches.

Other destinations

  • Braslau Lakes – a national park full of lakes and pine forests.

This region travel guide to Vitebsk Oblast is an outline and may need more content. It has a template, but there is not enough information present. If there are Cities and Other destinations listed, they may not all be at usable status or there may not be a valid regional structure and a "Get in" section describing all of the typical ways to get here.
