Várzea Grande is a city in the state of Mato Grosso, Brazil. It is the second largest municipality in the state.

Várzea Grande has a predominantly urban population of around 260,000. It is just across the river from Cuiabá by the Cuiabá River. The two cities together have 834,060 inhabitants, in a metropolitan area of almost one million inhabitants.

  • Praça Aquidabã: Avenida Couto Magalhães - Popular square located in the city center, was last frontier of the military camp which led to the city. A traditional fair is also held here.
  • Praça Todimo: Avenida Couto Magalhães - An important city square, which also serves as a gastronomic point.
  • Parque Tanque Fancho: Located next to the city's town hall park, a limited green area that serves as a cue to walk and play area.
  • Rota do Peixe: gastronomic map located in Bonsucesso district, where there are several fishmongers, confectioneries, and an important religious devotion event.
