Understand

History

Parappistan was established in 1972. At the time it consisted of two provinces, Pong and Jumpman, and the Central District. In 1979, the Gardens Territory in the west was created from land purchased from Lithium so that its army could go directly to its main rival, Pooland. In 1979, Jumpman was renamed Mario. In 1980, Pooland declared war on Parappistan, starting the Great Pooland War. When the war ended in 1985, Pooland was merged to Parappistan and became Jakratchistan. In 1989, Pong was split into Torostan and PaRappa State. In 1990, Spikeofatpricessaslycooperistan (SPI-ko-fat-prin-sess-a-SLYcooperistan) was created from land gained from Lithium by the Spikeofatprincessaslycooperistan Treaty. In 1991, Mario seceded and became the country of Nintendo. In 1992, the Gardens Territory was expanded northward to account for the land loss from the secession of parts of Spikeofatprincessaslycooperistan as a country of the same name. In 1993, Spikeofatprincessaslycooperistan, part of which seceded in 1992 as the country of the same name, was split into Spikeofatprincess and Slycooper. The expanded Gardens Territory was renamed the Sackboy Territory in 1993. In 2000, Spikeofatprincess was split into Spike Province and Fatprincessland. In 2003, Jakratchistan was split into Jakistan and Ratchetistan. In 2008, the Sackboy Territory was made a state.

Culture

Parappistan is home to a group of peoples including the Bits, the Cocos, the Poolanders, the Sackboy tribe, the Banananananananananana men, the Cats, and the Bytes. Each people has their own language and religion.

Talk

The Bits speak Bitas, which is similar to Polish except with additional Norwegian letters. The Cocos speak the C'ocona language, which consists of the letters C, O, N, A, K, and T and is otherwise similar to Italian. The Poolanders speak a language, Poolandish, which is similar to Polish, except that the letter Ł can be followed by I, and there is a farting sound after the second "łi" in a word, written as З. The Sackboy tribe speak an English dialect, LittleBigPlanetian English, where the string "real" cannot appear in a word, and is instead replaced with "imagine", as in "imagineize". The Banananananananananana men speak Monkey, obtained from the monkeys in their home country of the Democratic Republic of the Congo. It is written with a Cyrillic alphabet where each letter stands for a different monkey sound. The Cats do not have a written system, but they speak in the Cat language, like other cats. The Bytes speak Bytas, which is similar to Greek except with Latin and Chinese characters. Other people speak English or Parappistani, the country's official languages.

By plane

There is only one plane to Parappistan, which is an Koalstrag Airways flight from Calgary to Paris on Wednesdays at 2 p.m. Mountain Time.

By car

There are many bridges between Parappistan and the bordering countries.

By jetpack

Get an experimental Parappistan-centered jetpack-backpack device, and hold on tight!

Get around

Call 311 or 333 to call one of the country's intermetropolitan taxicabs or buses to travel around a city and to another city. There is also an experimental teleportation system, but it has not yet been tested on people.
