This page describes the criteria for determining the article status of phrasebooks.

StatusNameDescription
1 Stub A phrasebook with little or no information, or not formatted even close to the manual of style. An otherwise-valid article without an article skeleton template may hold this status briefly; adding an appropriate skeleton promotes the article to "outline". A page which has little or no prospect of becoming an article (or being redirected to an article) would be tagged for speedy {{delete}} or nominated for {{vfd}} if what little information it conveys does not meet Wikivoyage's goals.
2 Outline Has at least an introductory paragraph (this can be as short as a description of where the language is spoken) and a phrasebook template laid out for the article. Some of the sections of the template may have been translated, but not most of them.
3 Usable Has at least a Pronunciation Guide and the Basics section fully translated. The Lodging section is at least started and the names of foods are given under Eating.
4 Guide The phrasebook is at least mostly complete. The article will enable a traveller to communicate all of their basic needs, even if no one speaks English. Each word and phrase in the target language will be accompanied by a phonetic approximation of the pronunciation for English-speakers. Should have a custom page-banner.
5 Star The phrasebook template is complete and correct. It has a map identifying places where this language is officially recognized and/or commonly spoken. The format either matches the manual of style exactly or is the exception that proves the rule.
