I'm helping on the translation of this page but I'm stuck on Offset - I don't have this word on my En-Pt dictionary, what does a time zone offset mean? Thanks, (WT-en) Rmx 20:54, 18 Jan 2006 (EST)

It's the difference between one timezone and another. In this case, it's the difference between the user's timezone and the Wikivoyage server's. --(WT-en) Evan 22:28, 18 Jan 2006 (EST)

\ufffd[edit]

What is that flag? Guaka replaced the missing à characters for it. Should I use à instead? All other characters with accents are OK. (WT-en) Rmx 09:17, 19 Jan 2006 (EST)

Translation/proofreading[edit]

I have done one last round of translation and copyedit on this page. I tried not to make any changes concerning dialects of the Portuguese language (especially Portugal vs Brazilian Portuguese). If something is written in the way the Portuguese and Africans do, I left it as it is. The text may then be a bit mixed but certainly comprehensible to everyone.

I would say the file is quite usable now. However, I have not compared its structure, tags, flags and that sort of "computer stuff" to the English Language.php file. Nevertheless, I did not remove or change anything, so if the original LanguagePt.php was OK, then I guess the current version is ready to go. (WT-en) Rmx 15:46, 25 Jan 2006 (EST)

Further adjustments[edit]

Now that Pt: is up and running, I've noticed some "bugs" - it seems some ajusments will be necessary:

  • On the sidebar: “Navigation”, “Today’s log”, “toolbox” and “other sites” still appear in English.
  • The tabs “article”, “discussion”, “edit”, etc, appear in English too.

Also, on the special pages list, several pages are still listed with their original English title:

  • New images gallery
  • Admins list
  • Uncategorized pages
  • Uncategorized categories
  • Dead-end pages
  • Export pages
  • Version
  • All system messages

It looks like some (all?) of those were removed from LanguagePt.php before we translated it. (WT-en) Rmx 12:50, 27 Jan 2006 (EST)
