Obuasi is a mining town situated in the Ashanti-Kwahu region of Ghana, some 60 km south of Kumasi.

[edit]The town has a world class golf course which was originally the stomping ground of a few privileged ex-pats. The golf course has its own unique character, with obstacles such as goats and locals doing their weekly washing in the creek that runs through the course.

[edit]Obuasi could be called a fun town. On a Sunday evening people can be found jiving to Hip Hop at places like The Anyinam Lodge and the famed Golden View.
