The Wikimedia community collaborates in a number of ways with cultural (heritage) institutions that were in the Anglo-Saxon cultural circle referred to by the acronym GLAM for Galleries, Libraries, Archives and Museums. These sometimes include zoos, gardens, herbaria, learned societies, etc. Within Wikimedia the acronym GLAM is used for all kinds of collaborations with other organisations (except university and other courses), not limited by type of organisation.
