Yachimata (八街) is a city in Chiba prefecture.

Get in[edit]

The main Sobu Honsen train line from Chiba to Choshi passes through Yachimata and there are 2 stations: Yachimata and Enokido (榎戸). Hyuga (日向) station is just south-west of the city. Direct express trains also run to Tokyo once every 2 hours.

National Route 409 passes through the city center of Yachimata.

Get around[edit]

Buses and taxis depart from in front of Yachimata station and from in front of Enokido station. Taxis from Enokido station can be difficult to find during rush hours and late at night / early in the morning but are usually plentiful at Yachimata station.

Yachimata is well known for its peanuts which are distributed throughout Japan. Other prominent local produce include watermelons and pears.
