[edit]- 1 Whitegrass Airport (TAH IATA Tanna Airport) (south of the village). Flights from Port-Vila. Whitegrass Airport is located approximately 132.9 miles (213.9 km) southeast of Port-Vila and about 258.7 miles (416.3 km) northeast of Dumbéa. The airport has a small terminal building and handful of support structures at the airport. The airport is reached by car or van and has a small parking area behind the terminal. A paved road provides access to west side of the island and to the settlement of Lowanatom to the south.
Get around
[edit]The main road in the town runs along the coastline. The airport and resorts are located along this road.
See
[edit]- 1 Blue Hole #1 (There is a signpost showing its location). Blue Hole One (and two) are snorkeling locations, and are walking distance of a resort. They are natural holes in the reef system, so named by the locals due to the color of the water.
- 2 Blue Hole #2 (A few hundred yards north of Blue Hole #1). This is also a diving site.
- 3 Little Black Beach, Beach Road (Along the Beach Road north of White Grass).
- 4 Lowakus Cavern, Beach Road (Along the Beach Road north of White Grass).
- 5 Blue Cave, South Beach Road (On Beach Road north of Lowakus Cavern). 7 AM - 6 PM on all days except Saturdays. Blue Cave is one of the main attractions of Tanna island in Vanuatu. Inside the cave, it is possible to swim in the rays of sun blazing down from the sky.
