  • 1 KVLY-TV Tower. 2 miles west of Blanchard on Highway 200A, was until 2008 the tallest man-made structure in the world, at 2,063 feet (now surpassed by the colossal Burj Khalifa). Previously the tower's tallest title had been usurped by another radio tower outside Warsaw, but KVLY-TV proved a more reliable master than the Poles, as the usurper crashed to the ground in 1991. The tower thus claimed the title from 1963, when it was built, to 1974, and 1991-2008. Not bad for Blanchard, North Dakota. KVLY-TV mast (Q1120886) on Wikidata KVLY-TV mast on Wikipedia
