Kuningan is a town and regency in the East Parahyangan region of Western Java, Indonesia.

Understand

The town of Kuningan is in the east of West Java province, about 30 km south of the city of Cirebon and 35 km west of the border with Central Java. The town (officially a district) of Kuningan has a population of about 100,000, and is the capital of the regency with the same name (population 1.1 million). The village of Linggajati, where during the Indonesian War of Independence the Linggadjati Agreement was concluded, is in Kuningan regency, about 12 km north of the town. On the northwestern side of the city is Mount Ciremai National Park.

Get in

The main road to Kuningan is the trunk road from the north, from Cirebon. Near Cirebon this road connects to the major west-east toll road from Jakarta to Central Java (exit KM 204). In addition, there are smaller roads from the south, from the directions of Tasikmalaya and Banjar.

On the eastern side of the town, 1 Kertawangunan bus terminal serves regular buses to and Jakarta (via Cirebon) and Bandung. To get to Kuningan from Central Java, usually a transit in Cirebon is required.
