Pythion is a small border village in Western Thrace, Greece, a few kilometers north of the city of Alexandroupolis and the Kipi - Ipsala border crossing between Greece and Turkey.

Get in

[edit]

A train runs once M-F from Alexandroupolis to Pythion, Kastaniés and Dikaia.

There is no border crossing at Pythion, as the rail connection to Turkey was axed in 2011. Stay on the train to Kastaniés (Καστανιές), from where you can walk to the border crossing. Edirne is only 4 km north and there will probably be taxis waiting.

Either head north to Kastaniés (Καστανιές) to reach Edirne in Turkey, or south to Alexandroupolis.

This city travel guide to Pythion is an outline and needs more content. It has a template, but there is not enough information present. Please plunge forward and help it grow!
