- Christ the Redeemer Statue. The monument, which is 20 m high, was designed by the Espírito Santo sculptor Antônio Francisco Moreira. It stands on top of Morro do Castelo, from where it is possible to have a wide view of almost the entire urban area of the city. At the time of its inauguration, the Itaperuna monument held the position of being the second largest statue of Christ the Redeemer in the world.
