Asia > South Asia > India > Eastern India > Sikkim > North Sikkim > Mangan

Mangan is the capital of North Sikkim.

Understand

[edit]

The sleepy town of Mangan happens to be the district headquarters of North Sikkim. It is also the gateway to the northern towns of Sikkim, places like Yumthang, Katao, Chungthang, Lachung and Lachen. Mangan is also 10 km from Dzongu, which is reserved from the Lepcha aboriginal people of Sikkim.

Get in

[edit]

Mangan can be reached from Siliguri by passing through Rangpo, Singtham, Dikchu and Makha. In fact, the town lies in the route which connects Gangtok with the extreme northern towns of Sikkim, like Lachen, and Lachung.

Jeeps are available from Siliguri to Mangan.

Mangan can also be from Gangtok. Shared jeeps and taxis are available.
