Dorado is a city in the northern coast region of Puerto Rico.

Located just west of San Juan, from Luis Muñoz Marín Int'l Airport, take exit 22B on PR 22 and head north.

Publico is available throughout the area, though for the vacation traveler a car is handy.

  • 1 Dorado Pueblo (downtown Dorado). See the historic Roman Catholic church, Spanish-style recreational plaza, and the municipal buildings surrounded by streets and shops.
    You can drive around the pueblo or park your car and walk around the square and into the plaza. The Spanish law, which regulated life in Puerto Rico in the early 19th century, stated the plaza's purpose was for celebrations and festivities.

  • Enjoy panoramic views of the coast as you drive west on PR-165 from San Juan.
