Murrurundi (pop 2017) is a rural town in the Upper Hunter Valley, in New South Wales. The town is located on the Pages River, at the base of the Liverpool Range.

Murrurundi is located on the New England Highway, about 200 km from Newcastle via the A15 and M15.

- 2 Burning Mountain (near Wingen). A burning coal seam which emits sulphurous smoke. The underground fire at a depth of approximately 30m is burning for 6,000 years and is the oldest known coal fire.
