Emure is town in Ekiti State, South West Nigeria.
Understand
Emure got its name from the act of gifting a certain fern plant called Imu, thus the saying- "Imu re re o" which translates to "these are your leaves". The town is officially called Emure-Ekiti, and the Elemure who is the town's monarch is one of the Sixteen crowned Obas in Ekiti. The estimated population of Emure-Ekiti at the 2006 by National Census is 94,264. The ancestors of the present Emure Ijaloke, which is also known as Emure-Ekiti can be traced back to Ile-Ife.

Get in
Getting to Erin-Ekiti you will need to first get to Ado-Ekiti township, the capital of Ekiti State.
By plane
The easiest way to get into Emure through plane is to board a flight from any major airport in Nigeria to the Akure Airport which is the closest airport to the town, and then get a bus / car travelling to Emure-Ekiti directly from Akure.
By bus
You cannot get a direct bus to Emure but you can get bus to the closest town, the capital of Ekiti state, which is Ado-Ekiti.

There are different means of transiting through the town of Emure. The three major means are taxis, mini-buses, and motorcycles (Okada).
