  • 2 Koudougou — the region's second largest city is where you'll find the Royal Palace of Issouka, an example of earthen architecture
  • 3 Léo — a town of 52,000 people (2019) at the crossroads of national road 6, national road 13 and national road 20
  • 4 — the gateway to access the Kaboré-Tambi national park, the Nazinga ranch and the Gourounsi country

Ouagadougou is the main transportation hub for the country, with an airport, a train from the Ivorian capital Abidjan via Bobo-Dioulasso, and many bus connections.

In Ouagadougou, the National Museum has exhibits about the many local cultures, and the Moro Naaba ceremony held every Friday morning commemorates an important historical event.

The Panafrican Film and Television Festival of Ouagadougou (Festival panafricain du cinéma et de la télévision de Ouagadougou or FESPACO) is a film festival in Burkina Faso to celebrate films by African filmmakers and chiefly produced in Africa. FESPACO is scheduled in March every second year (odd-numbered years).
