Not to be confused with Antananarivo (Tana) in Madagascar or Tanna in Vanuatu.

Tana (Sámi: Deatnu) is a municipality in Finnmark, named after the main river of Finnmark, Europe's most important salmon river. It's an important hub in the area, right across the border from Finland, and a centre of Sami culture. The main village, Tana bru, is named after the famous bridge of E6 over the river.

The closest airports are in Kirkenes (KKN IATA), Lakselv (LKL IATA) and Ivalo (IVL IATA).

By coach

There are coach services by the E6 through Tana bru. In summer (?) there are also daily coaches to Finland, via Utsjoki to Rovaniemi.
