North America > United States of America > New England > Rhode Island > Providence County > Providence > Providence/South Providence

South Providence is in Providence, Rhode Island. It is a largely African-American and Hispanic community and the population of people is very culturally diverse. It contains the largest park in Providence, Roger Williams Park. South Providence is well known in the area for its dining and night life.

Southern Providence has a reputation for poverty and crime; the nightclubs on Broad Street have been known for their brawls. However, there are also nice neighborhoods here.
