Cachoeira de Itapemirim is a city of 211,000 people (2020) in southern Espírito Santo.

There are great geological attractions such as Frade e a Freira, Pico do Itabira, Pedra da Ema and Pico da Pedra da Penha, the highest point in the municipality from where you can see the Atlantic Ocean. It is possible to reach its summit in the middle of the forest, which has a chapel of Nossa Senhora da Penha and a cross, in its vicinity there is the Cachoeira Alta.

Cachoeiro de Itapemirim Airport, known as Raimundo de Andrade Airport, offers short flights.

The municipality has access via the BR-101, ES-482, ES-393, ES-489, ES-482 and ES-166 highways.

The municipality has an integrated urban transport system carried out by Consórcio Novo Trans. Urban public transport is provided by Flecha Branca (including the Gruta district), district public transport is provided by Viação Costa Sul (Soturno, Gironda and Córrego dos Monos), Viação Santa Luzia (Itaoca, Coutinho and São Vicente) and Viação Real (Burarama, Pacotuba, Conduru). All public transport has the same design, with the urban and district ones distinguished by the color blue and green, respectively.

Emu Rock
  • Emu Rock (Pedra da Ema). At a certain time of day, a protrusion in the rock form the perfect shape of an emu.
  • Itabira Peak (Pico do Itabira). 715-meter granite formation.
  • Monk and Nun (O Frade e a Freira).
  • Pedra da Penha Peak (Pico da Pedra da Penha). Highest point of the city, from which you can see the Atlantic Ocean. There is a forest trail which reaches its summit, passing by a waterfall called Cachoeira Alta.
  • Roberto Carlos Culture House (Casa de Cultura Roberto Carlos). House where Roberto Carlos was born and raised. The singer is revered by many older Brazilians as the king of Brazilian popular music. The house was purchased by the city and opened as a museum exhibiting photos and other related curiosities.
  • Domingos Lage Railway Museum. A former railway station, built in 1903, it was the main point of connection between Cachoeiro and the capital Vitória, Rio de Janeiro and other cities in the south of Espírito Santo and the Zona da Mata Mineira. The station ended its activities in the second half of 1996. The Domingos Lage Railway Museum, opened in 2007, tells, through photographic collections and materials, the history of the railway and its historical contribution to the development of the city. The site also provides space for cultural activities.
  • Fábrica de Pios Maurílio Coelho. The only bird call factory in South America, it has been in existence for over 100 years. The peeps are made of noble wood from the roots of trees extracted in the past.
