Countryside near Araraquara

Central São Paulo is a region in the state of São Paulo. It is a transition area between the industrialized southeast of the state and the mostly agricultural northwest. The region does not have really famous tourist attractions, but it contains mostly pleasant and safe cities.

  • 1 Araraquara — a city with almost 200 years of history and Italian roots that developed in the early 20th century
  • 2 Bauru — offers scenic attractions, many historical monuments, natural beauties and places to visit
  • 3 Ibitinga Ibitinga on Wikipedia — known as the "national capital of embroidery", the Festa do Padroeiro Senhor Bom Jesus, which is held annually in the month of August
  • 4 Jaú — has hundreds of historic buildings built during the booming coffee days, including a beautiful cathedral
  • Promissão — the birthplace of Japanese immigration in the country
  • 5 São Carlos — considered the "Little Italy" in the State of São Paulo
