Europe > Benelux > Netherlands > Southern Netherlands > Zeeland > Goes

Goes is a city of 38,000 people (2019) in Zeeland, Netherlands. Agriculture is the most important economic activity.

Understand

[edit]

Goes is in the middle of the province Zeeland. Its part of an area called Zuid-Beveland. "Goes" is roughly pronounced like "khoose" and rhymes with "goose" (IPA: /ɣus/).

Get in

[edit]

There is a rail link to Goes connecting it to the rest of the Netherlands.

Also several buses go in and out of Goes. A good website to check public transport is 9292

There is also a motorway going all the way to Vlissingen with a clearly marked exit for Goes.

Get around

[edit]

The centre of the city is very approachable by bike. There are several parking spaces around the town and one multi-story car park near the centre. There are buses around town. Goes is not very big so very walkable.

The surrounding area is best visited by car or bike although there are buses going to various villages.

There is a trainline going on to Middelburg, Arnemuiden and finally Vlissingen-Souburg/Vlissingen. In the other direction the train has direct lines to Bergen op Zoom, Dordrecht, Rotterdam, Delft, The Hague and Amsterdam.

By bus there are direct lines to Zierikzee and Terneuzen and several smaller towns

And by car your options are too many to mention. Some cities that are around 1 hour drive or less are Veere, Ghent, Antwerp, and Breda.

This city travel guide to Goes is an outline and needs more content. It has a template, but there is not enough information present. Please plunge forward and help it grow!
