Burra is a town of 920 (2021) in South Australia's Clare Valley region. It is most known for its Cornish mines, which have been on the tentative list for UNESCO World Heritage since 2024.

Burra is 2 hours north of Adelaide (about 166 km from Adelaide CBD) via the M2 Northern Expressway. Continue on until you reach A20 Gawler Ring Road and then exit onto A32 Barrier Hwy/B82 Horrocks Hwy. Stay on A32 Barrier Hwy for 110 km (about 80 minutes) until you reach Burra. From Port Wakefield, it's an 80-minute drive east via B84 and A32.

  • 1 Burra Mine, 1 Market St, 1300 775 540 (domestic), +61 8 8892 2154, . An open-air museum centred around the town's former copper mine, stemmed when copper was first found in the 1840s. At its height, it was once the largest metal mine in Australia. Both guided tours and self-guided walks are available, but tours are available from the Burra Heritage Passport (next to visitor centre). Since 2024, it has been on the tentative list for UNESCO World Heritage along with nearby Moonta as part of the Australian Cornish Mining Sites.
